I build developer tools, programming languages, instrumentation software, games and more — and I've spent 25+ years supporting the people who use hardware and software in the field, which is why my tools are built to fail legibly.
Currently: Technical Support Services Manager at Si-Tex Marine Electronics, where I'm the entire support, repair, and field-engineering function for a worldwide dealer network — and where I write the software that runs the service operation.
- Quick — interpreted language in C99. Stack-based bytecode VM, compile-time slot resolution, 189 tests, no dependencies.
- Leopard — beginner GUI language with serial/TCP/UDP and NMEA 0183 support. Includes a complete marine instrument display written entirely in Leopard.
- Ide-Suite — lightweight PyQt6 IDEs for Pseudocode (Algorithm Design) / BASIC (Programming Fundamentals) / Lua (Scripting) / Ruby (OOP) / Python (Mopdern Development) desinged to give students familiar feeling tools as they progress through different programming langauges.
- IDE -SUITE 2 — lightweight PyQt6 IDEs for a large list of programming languages APPLE(APL), BANTER(SMALLTALK), BLADE(BASIC), BLAZE(PASCAL), BLISS(EUPHORIA), CAPSULE(MODULA-2), CLASP(LOGO), CLJDE(CLOJURE), CONS_JOB(SCHEME), FABLE(FORTH), FORTE(FORTRAN), GEM(RUBY), GLOAT(C), GOPHER(GO), HOPPER(COBOL), JOT(WEB), LITHP(LISP), LOVELACE(ADA), LUNA(LUA), NIMBUS(NIM), PROOF(PROLOG), QUARTZ(CRYSTAL), AND .SQUEAL(SQL) feeling tools as they progress through different programming langauges.
- FORGE, PLAIN, STEPS, BARE — a family of teaching languages exploring different tradeoffs in syntax, typing, and execution model.
I produce tools for teaching programming to young students. Not to produce coders — to produce people who think clearly. That constraint is why these tools are built the way they are.
