A Voice for the Voiceless: 2,000 Years of Unwavering Catholic Opposition to Abortion🧵

The Catholic Church has always maintained that direct, induced abortion is a grave moral evil, from the earliest times to the present, regardless of varying canonical penalties, speculative opinions, or scientific theories. The Church’s teaching on the immorality of abortion has remained clear, firm, and consistent throughout history.Image
Three Distinctions That Clarify This Consistency:

1)Moral Law vs. Canonical Penalty
•Moral teaching: Abortion has always been considered a grave sin.

•Canon law: Penalties for abortion (like excommunication) have changed over time for pastoral or practical reasons but never changed the moral teaching.

–Key point: Variations in penalties reflect disciplinary strategy, not doctrinal inconsistency.

2)Official Church Teaching vs. Theological Opinions
•The Church allows debate and discussion, but only teachings officially defined as doctrine are binding.

•Some theologians (e.g., Sanchez, Marcus) expressed erroneous views later condemned by the Church.

–Key point: Church teaching develops through clarification and rejection of conflicting opinions, not by contradicting what has already been established as true.

3)Essential Moral Teaching vs. Scientific Theories (e.g. Ensoulment)
•The exact moment of ensoulment was historically debated (influenced by the Septuagint and Aristotle), but this was never central to moral judgment.

•Abortion was always condemned, even before the fetus was thought to be “animated.”

–Key point: Speculation on fetal development never altered the Church’s fundamental stance that abortion is gravely immoral.Image

10 Things You MUST Know About Vitamin B12 Deficiency
Vitamin B12 is essential for nerve health, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Yet, deficiency is widespread and often missed until significant damage occurs.

Here, I summarize the TOP 10 points about vitamin B12 deficiency:

1️⃣It is not just about tiredness:
Beyond basic fatigue, B12 deficiency can cause neurological signs, such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, balance issues, and cognitive fog.

2️⃣Nerve damage can become irreversible:
Untreated B12 deficiency leads to progressive demyelination of nerve fibers. Early detection is critical to prevent permanent damage.

3️⃣Normal blood tests can be deceptive:
Serum B12 levels can show a "normal" range even when tissue-level deficiency exists. Testing Methylmalonic Acid (MMA) or HOLOTRANSCOBALAMIN provides a far more accurate picture.

4️⃣Dietary risk:
Because B12 is naturally present only in animal products, vegetarians and strict vegans are at high risk unless they supplement or use fortified foods.

5️⃣It is often an absorption issue, not diet:
Conditions like autoimmune gastritis (pernicious anemia), Celiac disease, Crohn’s, or past bariatric surgery prevent the gut from absorbing B12 effectively.

6️⃣Common medications block absorption:
Long-term use of Metformin (for diabetes) and Acid Reflux Medications (PPIs/H2 blockers) significantly impair B12 uptake.

7️⃣It affects mental health:
Low B12 levels are frequently linked to unexplained mood shifts, depression, irritability, and memory loss that mimic early dementia.

8️⃣Watch for tongue & skin changes:
Glossitis (a smooth, red, painful tongue) and unexplained hyperpigmentation can be visible physical warning signs.

9️⃣Oral B12 works (even for absorption issues):
High-dose oral B12 (1000–2000 mcg daily) is often as effective as intramuscular injections due to passive diffusion across the intestinal wall.

🔟Aging increases your risk:
Gastric acid production decreases as we age, making it harder for older adults to extract B12 from food.

If you experience unexplained tingling, fatigue, or brain fog, get your B12 status evaluated and consult a doctor.

Every news story follows a predictable decay function- it peaks, then is soon forgotten. That is, every story except one: Israel. I analyzed 14.7 million news articles in 65 languages, cable news airtime, and social media data from X. The results were staggering. 🧵Image
Coverage of Israel is the anomaly that breaks all normal media patterns— in duration, volume, and sentiment.

On US cable news, Sudan's actual genocide (est. 400K deaths) topped 1% of airtime on only 8/390 days, as it grew worse. Israel, after Oct 7, exceeded 1% on 344/365 days.Image
In 9 of the last 10 years, Israel was the focus of more global media stories per capita than any other country, by far. 10M people — #95 in the world by population — but #6 in absolute volume of coverage over the decade. In 2024, 1 of every 26 articles on Earth was about Israel. Image

It was already under repair after an earlier Ukrainian strike.

The NFL sent a memo to clubs today clarifying that DT Zxavian Harris and TE Dae'Quan Wright -- who returned to LSU after being in NFL training camps -- are ineligible to visit, try out with or be signed NFL clubs during the 2026 NFL season, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.
After various court, SEC and NCAA developments, LSU ultimately did not add Harris or Wright to their 105-man roster. They are now without a place to play in 2026; they have already been draft-eligible, so they'll be free agents after the season.
The NFL noted in the memo that this list is not inclusive of all 2026 draft-eligible players who returned to college and directed questions about other players to the league’s management council.

“Clubs are reminded that it is each club's responsibility to verify player eligibility. If a club is unable to verify a player's eligibility, either on its own or in consultation with the NFL Player Personnel Department, the club may not sign such player to a contract and may not otherwise permit the player to practice or play with the club (including a visit or tryout). Violations may subject the club to discipline, including the loss of draft choices and/or fines, and club personnel may also be subject to fines and/or suspension. If there is any question regarding a player's NFL eligibility, it is imperative that the club contact the NFL Player Personnel Department.”

NEW: A House Judiciary report just dropped screenshots of ActBlue's internal Slack messages.

They show staff knowingly waved through foreign donations—using "verification" methods you won't believe.

Thread 🧵👇
ActBlue told Congress its "passport verification" stops foreign donors.

Their own policy says otherwise: it only checks that the number has the right number of characters. No database check. No real verification. Ever. Image
So what actually gets a foreign donation approved at ActBlue?

A supervisor's own words: "The donor is foreign, but correctly entered their billing address." Approved. Image

BREAKING: A Nashville hospital gave four surgery patients the wrong shot in their spine.

It was supposed to numb them. Three now have serious nerve damage, and one woman is paralyzed from the chest down.

Today, Medicare let the hospital keep its money.

Here's why that matters 🧵
It happened Aug 14 at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown.

Hospitals scan a barcode on every drug to make sure it's the right one.

Local reporters got the state's report.

They say the scanner wasn't working, so pharmacy workers went around it and typed the drug in by hand.
A pharmacist is supposed to be the last check.

Per that reporting, three pharmacy techs missed it.

Days later, inspectors found the potassium still on the shelf.

Unmarked.
