Listen, we all use AI. I build with AI, I leverage AI, and I write about AI. I’m not against AI. What I am against is being sent documents, presentations, and slack messages parading as original thoughts when they’re just Claudeslop. I was going to make this post a joke but it’s actually not funny. It’s scary. If your only value add is your ability to prompt an AI and forward the output, you are literally putting a neon sign above your head that says “I am replaceable.” I speak with literal experts in their fields who are seemingly allergic to writing down their own thoughts without consulting AI. And the worst part is that AI will take anything you give it and dress it up like it’s revolutionary. So by avoiding formulating your own opinion you meander into our conversation unaware of the faults in your own logic. Which leaves me in the unfortunate position of pointing them out. And puts you in a position to defend thoughts that aren’t even really yours. I have started pointing it out when I see it and requesting edits before I will read it. I’m done. My time is more valuable than that.

Laurent Cazanove نشر ذلكTonight I’m attending the Cognition Taipei meetup hosted by Liang-Bin Hsueh. ngl the “scaling DevRel in the age of AI” talk has piqued my curiosity 👀 This got me thinking: what has AI changed for developer relations? The product shift is obvious: dev tools went from developer-first to agent-first. But how does that impact DevRel? DevRel aims to support the company’s goals of enabling its technical audience. This audience used to be only developers, but AI assistants have bridged the gaps between no-code, low-code, and programming. Vibe coders now use products built for software engineers. AI agents use tools built for humans. AI expanded the technical audience for DevRel. The product interaction surface changed too: a web analytics tool required a dev to integrate and a marketer to read the dashboard. Now, agents may be handling both. As AI found its way into every workflow, has DevRel just become AgentRel? I'll let you know what I find out tonight.

The unexpected sequel to my ever-growing list of side project ideas 😅 Most of my project ideas came from firsthand experience of problems. As a knowledge worker, I went through frustrating workflows and found solutions to fix them. But now, it seems like I’m facing the same problem as everyone is, which a million products are trying to solve: context engineering. The rise of LLM assistants has facilitated, sped up, and qualitatively improved a significant amount of knowledge work. This streamlined many tasks for me: research, technical writing, and programming, to name a few. When using AI, all these tasks are now similar. They’re all context engineering problems: providing an agent with the right context and tools to get the job done. I’m exposed to fewer specific problems. The consequence is that I’m not as “problem aware” of many novel use cases, and this hurts my creativity. All ideas I can think of are AI-related: how can we bring context A into workflow B, how can we simplify/speed up/automate X using AI, etc. The same stuff everybody is building. Are all tech products converging? 🤔

Ça a été une aventure incroyable de plus d'un an. Notre toute première coproduction voit enfin le jour, et j'ai une grande fierté d'avoir eu l'opportunité de travailler aux côtés de Darjeeling et ARTE sur ce projet. 🌱 Tout est parti d'une rencontre. Un voyage aux USA avec le programme Game Changer, porté par la Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education et Games for Change, où j'ai croisé la route de Marc LUSTIGMAN. On a parlé, on a partagé nos univers, et je suis tombé amoureux des Merlies. Le genre de projet qu'on rêve de porter. 🏝️ Quelques semaines plus tard, on se retrouve à La Réunion in Games, organisé par La Réunion Développement, la Région Réunion et le Collectif Bouftang. L'idée qui germait depuis les USA prend forme, et devient réalité : Blue Ramen Studios coproduit Les Merlies avec Darjeeling, édité par ARTE. 🐦 Pour moi, Les Merlies, c'est un jeu à impact sociétal avec un message limpide : Devant l'adversité, la collaboration est notre plus belle réponse. Et je pense que cela résume bien la situation de nos industries créatives actuellement. Aujourd'hui, ce petit peuple d'oiseaux trop mim's qui reconstruit un monde à partir de rien s'apprête à sortir. Une fable écologique, poétique et pleine d'espoir, portée par des équipes formidables : Equipe Darj. Olivier Bruno, Théo Le Du Fuentes, Ulysse Salaün, Céline Veltman, Alexandre COL, Thomas Sandmeier, Lucile Thierry, Raquel De Miranda, Léonard Bertos 🫏, Florence Rivières 🦊 et Noam Roubah. Dix ans après avoir fondé ce club avec Arnaud Moulet, c'est désormais Stizo / Romain Kuentz qui reprend les rênes. C'est une belle suite logique : Romain est avec nous depuis quatre ans, il est peu à peu devenu la figure publique du club, et cette transition s'inscrit dans la continuité de ce que l'on avait commencé à construire ensemble. Je suis sincèrement ravi de ce changement. Cette aventure a été incroyable. Nous sommes partis de zéro : pas de fonds, aucune connaissance dans le secteur, pas de réseau esport, pas de notoriété. Aucun avantage compétitif, dans un secteur où cela fait presque exception. Et pourtant, nous avons non seulement réussi à construire un modèle singulier mais aussi à paver la voie pour ceux qui viennent après nous : un partenariat public / privé pionnier avec la Ville de Boulogne-Billancourt, un modèle tourné sur l'accompagnement des jeunes et la pratique saine de l'esport, ou encore la genèse de l’Union Française des Clubs d'Esport Professionnels (UFCEP). Un club qui a trouvé son positionnement et qui laisse un héritage dont je suis fier. L’avantage de l’entrepreneuriat c’est qu’on ne s’ennuie jamais. Une phase de croissance rapide jusqu'en 2021, portée par un marché en pleine effervescence. Puis une remise en question profonde à partir de 2022, quand les levées de fonds ont ralenti puis gelé et que le modèle a dû se réinventer. Et enfin, ces dernières années, avec l’atteinte d’une maturité d'un modèle qui se suffit à lui-même. Chaque phase a été riche, à sa façon. Comme je le répète à Arnaud depuis des années : "chaque crise est une opportunité". Autant vous dire qu’on a eu beaucoup d’opportunités 😁 10 ans à vibrer dans un univers ultra dynamique, sur un secteur à défricher, autour d'une pratique à structurer... C'était aussi excitant qu'éprouvant, et j’ai maintenant l’impression d’avoir de quoi écrire un livre sur les galères de l’entrepreneuriat. Pas de quoi m’empêcher d’y retourner ceci dit… Ce chemin n'aurait pas été possible sans les (très nombreuses) personnes qui nous ont fait confiance et accompagnés. You decide what to retrieve, how to retrieve it, and when to stop. The model just writes it up. That's fine for basic Q&A, and it breaks the moment a question carries multiple intents or needs more than one hop. Agentic search inverts it. You hand the model search tools and let it decide what to query, how to build filters, when to drill deeper, and when it has enough evidence to answer. Retrieval quality then scales with model capability instead of being capped by your pipeline design. Our contributor, Laurent Cazanove wrote up how to build this in TypeScript using the new Meilisearch AI SDK and the Vercel AI SDK. On a parfois fini par 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗹’𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗰 𝗹𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, comme si tout conserver revenait déjà à comprendre quelque chose. Pour moi, le 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗹 a toujours été là : dans ce passage entre la donnée qu’on possède et l’information qui nous permet d’agir. Parce qu’une entreprise peut garder la trace de chaque interaction avec ses clients et continuer à découvrir leur insatisfaction le jour où ils la 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁. C’est précisément ce qu’on cherche à changer chez Actionable. Quand j’ai rejoint l’équipe il y a un an et demi, beaucoup de choses restaient à construire côté R&D. Depuis, on a cherché, testé, appris, recommencé. On avance parfois sans beaucoup de références auxquelles se raccrocher, avec cette difficulté assez stimulante de devoir construire ce qu’on ne peut pas simplement reproduire. C’est ce qui me plaît dans ce projet : travailler à la rencontre des enjeux produit, de recherche et d’architecture, et 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲̀𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲́𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶 𝗮 𝗱𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀 pour les personnes qui utilisent ce qu’on développe. Croiser des données jusque-là dispersées, leur 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗲́𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿, comprendre ce qu’elles racontent d’un parcours client et permettre aux équipes de savoir où agir, auprès de qui et pourquoi. Pour le dire autrement, faire en sorte que la connaissance client serve aussi à 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶 𝗽𝗲𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲̂𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲́, plutôt qu’à documenter ce qui s’est déjà mal passé. C’est toute l’ambition de la Predictive Customer Experience. 💪🏻 Aujourd’hui, ce travail porte sur plus de 𝟭𝟭𝟳 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘁 𝟯𝟳 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗱’𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗲́𝘀, pour des entreprises comme Carrefour, SNCF, ENGIE, Boulanger ou Edenred. À force d’avoir le nez dans le produit, on finit presque par oublier l’échelle à laquelle il est utilisé. Écrire ces chiffres, c’est aussi prendre la mesure du chemin parcouru. Cette levée, menée par Hi inov - Dentressangle, avec le soutien renouvelé d'Axeleo Capital, investisseur historique d’Actionable, va nous permettre de renforcer l’équipe, d’accélérer à l’international et donner de l’ampleur à ce qui prend déjà forme. Romain Huet at OpenAI DevDay demo‘ing an idea that I think will be HUGE. Like super huge. I think this will be pervasive in 6-12 months: Users of your app will have a new “Codex” tab that will allow you to modify the software and add new features in-place. Inside the app itself. No code editor, no PRs, no deployment. This demo was for a weight loss management app. But I think we will have a lot of enterprise / internal software add in-place app edits. They’ll gate it to admin users.

At the beginning of November, I received $250 in credits to try Claude Code — a browser-based coding assistant that works directly against a GitHub repository. My first experiment was straightforward: asking it to implement a small bug fix in an iOS project. I connected the repository, wrote a short prompt, and watched it open an interactive thread. It produced an analysis, generated a task list, and immediately began executing it. Unless you tell it to wait, it assumes it should act. There is no Claude.md, no shared contract, no persistent collaboration rules (yet). The workflow is familiar: it creates a branch, commits changes, and offers a pull-request link. The main limitation for me is tied to Swift — the environment cannot compile or run unit tests. Verification still requires switching to the branch locally. As with many assistants, longer threads reduce reactivity and coherence. Without a planning mode, the conversation tends to drift, and enforcing working styles like TDD is inconsistent. When the session goes idle, execution also seems to pause. Occasionally, it produces concurrency errors or ignores input while it cycles through its whimsical flabbergasting / ruminating / percolating states. Some essentials so far: Pros • Clean Git hygiene and clear traceability • Tangible sense of scope through visible credit usage • Less load on my own machine • Reliable, structured change sets Cons • No build or test support for Swift • Some context drift in longer threads • Work pauses when the session sleeps • Hard to impose consistent development rules The function is also built into the mobile app. Yesterday evening, I decided to let it work on something overnight. I specified and validated the requirements for a fairly complex feature - multi-language support - , evaluated options, approved design and implementation plan, and went to sleep. This morning, the code was done (probably rather 5-10 minutes after I had switched off the light). Heinzelmännchen 2.0. Programming that feels like something you say, rather than something you type - wow!
