We officially shut down Chart Studio on October 31, 2025.
Chart Studio was Plotly's very first product, and we stopped making improvements to it back in 2017. We ran it for another 8 years as a service to the community before finally shutting it down in 2025.
Thank you for supporting Plotly since the early days of Chart Studio, and we're sorry if shutting down Chart Studio has caused disruption.
Chart Studio has been replaced by many other products in the Plotly family. Plotly Studio is its successor and can create all of the charts that Chart Studio could, plus do arbitrary data analysis and generate apps. Graphs can be created in the open source Python graphing library and hosted on Plotly Cloud or exported as images or HTML. And we open sourced the GUI chart editor of Chart Studio as well.
