A hundred years ago, war looked very different. Armies moved slowly, often on foot or horseback. Communication relied on radios. Intelligence came from human spies, intercepted letters, or what soldiers could see across a field. Decisions were made by generals reading maps spread across wooden tables, drawing lines with pencils, trying to anticipate what the enemy might do next.
