Why organizers move to Hi.Events

We’ve used Hi.Events now for a few events and really love it. It’s also been fun to see improvements roll out as we go. We’re definitely never going back to Eventbrite.

See it work before you sign up

Every frame is a screenshot from a live event: working the door, squaring the books, building the schedule.

At the door

What your door staff actually see

You send them a link and that is the whole setup — no install, no account, no seat to pay for. Camera scan, USB scanner, or search a name and tap.

  • Every device sees the same counts as the queue moves
  • Undo a check-in in one tap
  • A separate list per door, each with its own live count
Door staff scanning a ticket and checking an attendee in from a phone.
Afterwards

The numbers your accountant asks for

Daily sales, tax and fees, per-product breakdowns and promo code performance — on screen or as a CSV, in your event’s own currency.

  • Nothing to reconcile against a separate storefront
  • Every order, refund and fee accounted for

Scheduling

From a single night to a full season

Running the same night every week? Describe the pattern once — every Friday, twice on Saturdays, skip August — and Hi.Events builds the sessions as you type. Attendees pick the date they want.

  • Single dates, or schedules up to 1,200 sessions
  • Per-date overrides for price, capacity and times
  • One checkout and one attendee list, however many dates you run
Building a repeating schedule in Hi.Events and booking a single session from it.

§ 07 · FAQ

Questions organizers ask first

Is Hi.Events really free?
Free events cost nothing. For paid tickets we charge 1.25% plus a small fixed amount per ticket (60¢ in the US, €0.50 in the EU, 45p in the UK, A$0.85 in Australia). Pass that on to buyers and your own outlay stays zero. Self-hosting has no platform fees at all, but you run the servers yourself.See pricing
How do fees compare to Eventbrite?
Eventbrite charges a different rate in each market: 3.7% + $1.79 in the US, 6.5% + €0.79 in the EU, 6.95% + £0.59 in the UK. Ours is 1.25% plus a small fixed amount everywhere. On 250 tickets at $30 in the US, that is $481 you keep rather than hand over.Full Eventbrite comparisonFee calculator
Can I switch from Eventbrite or another platform?
Yes, and most organizers do it between events. Recreating an event takes a few minutes, then you point your ticket links at the new page. Existing orders stay on the old platform while new sales run through Hi.Events.
How long does it take to get an event live?
Minutes. Create the event, add your tickets, connect Stripe and publish — most organizers are selling the same day they sign up. Connecting Stripe is the only step that involves anyone else, and it is the standard Stripe onboarding form. How selling tickets online worksCreating your first event
When do I get paid, and whose Stripe account is it?
Your own. You connect your Stripe account to Hi.Events through Stripe Connect, and card payments settle into it directly as tickets sell — we never hold your money in between. Payout timing is whatever your Stripe schedule says, so the funds are typically there well before the doors open.Connecting Stripe
Can I sell from my own website?
Yes. Paste the embed code into WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or anything else that takes HTML, and attendees check out without leaving your site. You also get a branded organizer homepage listing all your published events, which you can point people at instead.Embedding the ticket widget
What happens when I need to refund someone?
Full and partial refunds are built in. Refund an order from your dashboard and Stripe returns the money to the buyer’s card. You can cancel the ticket at the same time.
Is Hi.Events GDPR-friendly?
Yes. You own your attendee data, it’s exportable at any time, and we never sell it. If your compliance rules are strict, self-host and the data never leaves your own infrastructure.
