Vex is an independent browser based on open-source components from Brave and Chromium, focused on privacy, simplicity, freedom from product bloat, and modern visual organization.
Status: Pre-alpha development. No official builds or supported releases are available yet.
Linux is the initial development platform, with Ubuntu as the first reference environment. Contributions are welcome while the foundation is being established.
- shallow, disciplined Brave fork;
- frequent upstream synchronization;
- one major feature at a time;
- privacy-oriented defaults;
- Brave Shields, native ad blocking, and Chromium extension compatibility retained;
- proprietary Vex identity with open-source browser code;
- original UX for tabs, folders, Split View, Quick View, and Vex-owned sync infrastructure.
