Bluebeam
Field app for PDF workflows
Free · Designed for iPad
Bluebeam for iOS keeps you connected to your teams and documents, so you can quickly access the information you need in the field and capture what matters for the office.
- Communicate with markups using tools such as call-outs, text, clouds and status indicators
- Import your team's custom Tool Sets from Revu so your standardised markups are ready to go in the field, even offline
- Attach photos captured in the field directly to a markup so supporting documentation stays organised without cluttering your drawings
- Open your files stored on your device, Studio Projects or Studio Sessions
- Join Studio Sessions for live collaboration. If your connection drops, your changes sync when you're back online
- Check out files in Studio Projects to make edits, and then check them back in when you're ready
- Work offline by syncing Project files ahead of time or opening PDFs stored on your device
Whether you're reviewing submittals, placing markups in the field or tracking revisions with your team, Bluebeam gives you the flexibility to get the job done from anywhere.
more - Image Capture
Snap a new photo or choose one from your library and attach it to a markup. View it as a thumbnail or full screen with zoom and pan, and remove it when you've finished. Works fully offline and syncs automatically once you're back online. Captures created on mobile appear correctly in Revu's Markups List and Summary Reports.
- Refreshed markup details panel
History and comments are now consolidated into a single timeline, comments can be edited with one tap, and the panel's title bar shows just the markup type or subject for a cleaner view.

- Tool Sets (Tool Chest)
Import BTX tool sets curated from Revu by opening a file anywhere on your device, or from your Studio Projects, and use them in the field, even offline. Long press a tool set's name to rename it, or remove it when you're done. This is the first release of Tool Sets on the new iOS app, and the first time Tool Sets have been available on an iPhone. Available now to all users, paid or unpaid.
- Add and remove vertices on Polylines and Polylengths
Fine-tune shapes and measurements after you've drawn them. In edit mode, tap a yellow vertex to remove it, or tap anywhere along a line to add a new vertex at that point.
- Faster markup status changes
Change a markup's status with a single tap on the status pill in its panel. Previously this required a long press, which wasn't easy to discover.
- User Account Hub
Tap your name or email in Settings > Account to open the User Account Hub and manage your Bluebeam account details.

- Upload and delete Studio PDFs
Upload new PDFs to Studio Projects or Sessions, or remove files you no longer need directly from the app.
- Access recent files in the editor
Quickly switch between recently opened files without leaving the editor.
- Improved file-to-file navigation
Move between files instantly, even across distant folders, without the delay of reloading each location.
- Open Project files in live Sessions
When a Project file is part of an active Session, you can open it in the Session editor to collaborate in real time. Files in Sessions are clearly identified, so you know where work is happening.
1.30 14 May
- Search Sessions and Projects by keyword
Quickly find the Session or Project you have access to by typing in keywords, so you don’t have to scroll through long lists.
- Sort your Sessions and Projects lists
Organise your lists to get into the right work faster.
- Access bookmarks in your PDFs
If a PDF includes bookmarks, you can now open them from the editor and jump directly to the sections you need.
1.29 15 Apr
- Open Bluebeam links directly in the mobile app: Links shared from the Bluebeam web app now open directly in the mobile app when it’s installed on your device. The app recognises the workspace referenced in the link and opens the correct Session or Project automatically.
- Join unrestricted Sessions or Projects by ID: You can now join unrestricted Studio Sessions or Projects by entering the workspace ID directly in the mobile app. This provides a quick way to access shared collaboration spaces when a teammate provides the ID instead of an invitation link.

Measurements now available in Studio Sessions:
Measurement tools are now fully supported in Studio Sessions, allowing you to measure, collaborate and review quantities together in real time.
1.27 25 Feb
- Length Measurements: Measure distances precisely with options to adjust colour and line width for clear visual feedback on your drawings.
- Area Measurements: Calculate surface areas and apply fill colours to highlight spaces, helping you confirm coverage or material quantities at a glance.
- Polylength Measurements: Trace connected segments or irregular paths while customising colour and line width to keep your markups easy to read.
- Count Measurements: Place and track repeated items using five default symbols, making it easy to quantify fixtures, doors or materials.
1.26 21 Jan
- Form Fields: Fill out basic form fields directly in your PDFs to complete checklists and project documents while on the move.

1.24.2 14/10/2025
Performance Boost: Large PDFs open much faster once files are ready to go offline, giving you a smoother experience right from your device.
Building from our previous release, here’s what’s also new this month:
- Edit locally stored PDFs
Open and mark up PDFs saved directly on your device, from other DMS apps or via the iOS Files app. Files opened from supported storage providers can be saved back to their original location, while others can be exported elsewhere. If you’re working with files from a DMS, make sure that they’re downloaded first so you can access and edit them offline in Bluebeam.
- Offline Studio Projects
Designate entire Projects, folders or individual files to be used offline. Items are checked for revisions when you’re online and synced in the background during app launch, reconnect or overnight. Files that you don’t designate are still cached automatically but removed after 90 days to save space.
- Pen eraser
Erase parts of individual pen strokes while drawing or editing, giving you more control without needing to start again.
- Freehand improvements
Drawing with Apple Pencil or touch is now smoother and more responsive, fixing lag and input delay reported by users.

- Check out and check in Project files on iOS: Users can now check out Studio Project files directly from the iOS app. While checked out, licensed users can place and edit markups, add comments and update statuses, even in the field. Files can be checked out from any platform, but only changes made from the platform used to check in will be saved.
- Check in files with or without an internet connection: Users can check in files with or without an internet connection. If offline, the file will display a 'pending' state in the editor. When back online, the app auto-syncs changes and clears the pending status; no action needed.
- Stay informed when files are checked out: If another user has checked out the file, it will appear with a padlock icon and be view-only for everyone else. Users can still view the file in read-only mode.
- Discard changes and check the file back in: Users can discard edits and return the file to its read-only state. This helps avoid saving accidental changes and prevents version lockups.
- Navigate across Studio files with hyperlinks and deep links: Users can now tap PDF hyperlinks or studio:// deep links on markups to quickly open connected documents or jump to related files within a Studio Project, making it easier to reference other files and linked content from mobile.
