A story of one man

I love Duolingo. Truly and deeply. It helps me convert my inner motivation into the actual learning. I’m learning Spanish on Duolingo for almost a year now. But there is one thing I wanted to share with you. Recently I’ve finished the fourth section and unlocked the fifth, intermediate section. It was a huge deal for me, I was on the fourth section for months. And near to the end of it, in the last couple of weeks, reaching the end of the fourth section was arguably the most important goal in my life. And then the time has come. The last unit. The last lesson. The last question. Done. I see nice smooth animation that completes the fourth section and unlockes the fifth one. And… Nothing else. It was so huge to me and I haven’t got any appreciation from the app. From the app that congratulates me after every lesson, after 5 questions in a row, after quest completions. Transition to the intermediate level wasn’t appreciated at all. No gifts, no success screens, no confetti. I was honestly disappointed because I was expecting it to be huge from the apps perspective too.Off course my love to Duolingo wasn’t affected at all and I keep learning. But I hope this would be a valuable insight for you as you always improve the application. Thanks for the experience!

I’m very dissatisfied with Duolingo. I’ve been learning Italian for a long time, but instead of feeling like I’m progressing, I constantly feel like I’m going in circles. The course keeps repeating the same vocabulary, sentence structures, and topics over and over again, without giving me a clear sense of progression or introducing enough new material. After spending so much time learning, I expected to see much more improvement.Another thing that I find very strange is the way the course presents its characters and scenarios. When I’m learning Italian, I would like to see more Italian names, people, and cultural context. Instead, I constantly encounter characters with Indian names and Muslim characters, including characters wearing hijab. Diversity itself is not a problem, but when it feels disproportionately represented in a course specifically designed to teach Italian, it feels artificial and disconnected from the cultural context I’m trying to learn. It sometimes even feels like the representation is being deliberately pushed rather than naturally integrated into the course.Overall, I’m disappointed because Duolingo seems much more focused on keeping users repeating lessons and maintaining engagement than on actually helping them progress in the language. I would really like to see a more structured curriculum, genuinely new material, and much stronger Italian cultural context.

On my second device all the sticks catch the Internet, but Duolingo tells me that "there is no Internet connection". This is not the case on the first device.P.S. The Internet is distributed to the first device from the second. On the first one it does not write anything, on the second one, where it should be better, it says that there is no Internet at all.
